Business Development Consultant

About the role

The Business Development Consultant will join the Distribution Department, reporting to the Executive Head of Distribution. Based in the Western Cape, the role focuses on growing and managing a broker portfolio, driving acquisition, and supporting gross written premium and profitability targets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify market opportunities and create business plans for prospect development.
• Retain and grow existing broker portfolios to meet premium and profitability goals.
• Maintain accurate sales pipeline reporting and execute broker acquisition, onboarding, and activation activities.
• Drive broker engagement initiatives, campaigns, and growth programmes.
• Develop strategic partnership opportunities and conduct regular broker visits across the region.

Required profile

• Matric qualification and FAIS compliance.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial and personal lines experience.
• Proven broker development, sales, and relationship‑management track record.
• Experience in pipeline management, opportunity conversion, and business‑development planning.
• Valid South African driver’s licence, own reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel extensively within the region.
