Business Analyst - Pre-Sales Solution Support

About the role

SS&C is looking for a Business Analyst focused on pre-sales solution support, based in Cape Town. The role works alongside sales, product and solution architecture colleagues to position the HiTrust transfer agency platform with prospective and existing clients. It combines core business analysis with hands-on demonstration and proof-of-concept work, and supports delivery teams so that what is demonstrated in the sales cycle matches what is built.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse client and prospect requirements against HiTrust platform capability, doing fit-gap analysis and deciding what can be configured versus what needs development.
• Prepare, configure and deliver tailored product demonstrations and proof-of-concept environments using client-relevant data, fund structures and processing scenarios.
• Act as subject-matter expert in client-facing sales meetings, workshops, due diligence and site visits, answering functional and operational questions.
• Propose solutions for client problems and author content for RFI's, RFP's, due diligence questionnaires and solution proposals.
• Maintain the demonstration environment and demo asset library, aligned to current product releases.
• Document requirements, define scope and objectives, and write functional requirements and solution design documents to an auditable standard.
• Facilitate workshops with the development team, play back the solution to clients and secure sign-off.
• Support scoping and estimation during bids, and collaborate on planning, design, development and client deployments, including on-premise installations.
• Feed market and competitor insight back into the product roadmap and keep internal and external communication going throughout the project.

Required profile

• Prior experience in mutual funds, investor servicing or transfer agency.
• Excellent understanding of core mutual fund processes: transaction and dealing processing, distributions and reporting, and mutual fund statements and operational reports.
• Demonstrable experience presenting or demonstrating software to clients and contributing content to RFI and RFP responses.
• Extensive experience in requirements elicitation and writing functional solution design documents.
• Strong experience leading workshops with stakeholders on business requirements and functional solutions.
• Ability to work to bid deadlines across concurrent opportunities.

Required skills

• Understanding of IT systems, databases and infrastructure, including integration of multiple systems.
• Working knowledge of requirement management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Confident presentation and demonstration skills, and strong written communication.
