Business Analyst

About the role

SS&C Technologies is looking for a Business Analyst based in Bellville, Cape Town, South Africa. The role involves analysing business processes, finding opportunities for improvement and turning business needs into technical requirements, acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams so that solutions match strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse existing business processes, workflows and systems to find inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
• Gather, document and prioritise business requirements from stakeholders through interviews, workshops and surveys.
• Translate requirements into functional and non-functional specifications for developers.
• Maintain documentation such as use cases, process flows, data models and system diagrams.
• Work with developers, QA and architects throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Take part in testing, including writing test cases, running user acceptance testing and validating solutions against requirements.
• Support project managers with planning, tracking and reporting.
• Facilitate communication between business users, technical teams and other stakeholders, research industry trends and help train users on new systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in a software development environment, preferably in financial services or FinTech.
• Proven ability to analyse complex problems, find root causes and propose practical solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical people and business needs to technical teams.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment, with strong interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Good understanding of the SDLC and methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
• Proficiency in writing BRDs, functional specifications and use cases.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as JIRA and Confluence is a plus.
