Business Analyst – Financial Services

About the role

A client of Parvana is hiring a Business Analyst based in Johannesburg, working hybrid or remotely. The client provides financial service solutions to help its clients achieve their goals, with a team of over 600 people and an Agile approach focused on research, innovation and improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for operational clients, managing ongoing communications, regular service meetings and escalation resolutions.
• Elicit, document and validate client requirements for business processes and software solution changes.
• Work with software developers, QA/testing teams and project managers to turn client needs into clear technical specifications and user stories.
• Provide first-line functional support to clients and ensure clear release management communication.
• Identify operational gaps and system inefficiencies and propose quality improvements that boost productivity and client satisfaction.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification (Finance, Accounting, Economics, etc.) is beneficial.
• 5+ years of experience in financial services, trust or pension administration.
• Track record in client service management, service delivery or account coordination in a technology-enabled environment.
• Strong understanding of core financial concepts and operational workflows.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills at operational and management levels.
• Calm under pressure with a high capacity for handling client escalations.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work in Agile software development environments.

Required skills

• Practical background in pensions, retirement funds or trust administration is a strong advantage.
• Hands-on experience in business analysis, requirements gathering or process mapping is a plus.
• Strong process-oriented and analytical problem-solving skills.
