Business Analyst & Accountant (Maternity Cover)

About the role

A maternity leave cover position in an eyewear company, supporting the local CFO in revenue and cost management. It combines project analysis with the production of monthly financial management accounts, working across finance and commercial operations. The role is hybrid, with one day per week remote, and lasts 5-6 months.

Key responsibilities

• Execute monthly, quarterly and year-end closing procedures aligned with IFRS and Group reporting standards.
• Analyse actuals, budget variances and strategic plans, and support weekly and monthly forecasting.
• Review monthly accruals and prepare journal entries for general ledger posting; reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve variances.
• Coach and support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff, and prepare and review weekly payment runs.
• Produce weekly sales analysis reports, monitor key account performance and run revenue and cost analyses for finance and sales.
• Take part in ad-hoc business projects as required.

Required profile

• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience in month-end closure, reporting and forecasting.
• Attention to detail and tech savviness.
• Experience in the FMCG sector is an advantage.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel.
• SAP or similar ERP software.
• IFRS and Group financial reporting procedures.
