Branch Manager (Stellenbosch)

About the role

Old Mutual is looking for a Branch Manager for its OMF branch in Stellenbosch. The role manages a team of financial and client relations consultants and all branch processes so that sales targets and objectives are met and overall branch performance improves. It is accountable for the team's results over periods of 1 day to 3 months.

Key responsibilities

• Support and motivate the consultant team to sell insurance and lending products, referrals and collections, and set clear expectations on targets and outcomes.
• Manage the branch as a profit centre, balancing products sold, service and expenses.
• Supervise the team through performance appraisals, disciplinary matters and attendance monitoring.
• Run manager reviews and ensure policies, procedures and company values are followed, with processes compliant for audit and proactive handling of non-compliance.
• Train consultants and develop their internal capabilities through coaching, mentoring and development plans focused on sales and soft skills.
• Plan and monitor daily and future activities to protect targets and productivity.
• Manage costs and expenses to support branch profitability.
• Ensure people resources, systems and equipment are functional and fit the corporate identity.
• Resolve client queries and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders (RMM, i-Wyze, Octogen, PFA, etc.) and the referral process between business units.
• Identify new business opportunities and market products and services to grow the business.
