Retail Planner (Junior) – Clothing Retail

About the role

A recruitment agency is advertising a junior Retail Planner position in Cape Town for the clothing retail industry. The role suits qualified candidates with 1 to 2 years of experience. Only South African citizens are eligible. The salary is negotiable.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate stock from the distribution centre to customer stores, sending the right quantities according to each store's sales and stock levels
• Make sure stock arrives on time and stays above minimum display quantities
• Monitor daily sales and stock on hand per store using reports
• Handle new store stock management and allocations
• Check incoming orders and confirm delivery dates and quantities with customers, or note any order changes
• Create and share sales performance reports for the team, and prepare monthly reports on sales, stock, turnover and best sellers by brand and store
• Assist the planner with buy plans, replenishment orders and stock cover analysis
• Ad hoc work: year-on-year reports, store queries on stock or sales, creating new stores and delivery notes, and planning staff events

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma
• 1 to 2 years of experience in the clothing retail industry
• Numerical aptitude
• Very methodical approach
• Computer literate
