Branch Manager (Channel Manager: Sales and Service)

About the role

Absa is looking for an experienced Channel Manager: Sales and Service to lead a customer-facing sales and service operation in a strategically important market. The role combines leading a complex branch and multiple service points, driving commercial growth, championing digital innovation and building high-performing teams. It is presented as a senior leadership position with full branch accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead nodal operations with accountability for people, process and performance, and oversee DHA and MVNO functions, including efficient verification and ID smart card issuing.
• Drive commercial growth and service excellence across multiple service points, and expand market presence through oversight of RIB and external sales.
• Strengthen compliance and operational integrity in civic services, and ensure delivery of all performance targets.
• Take responsibility for the full branch P&L (where applicable), and deliver growth, profitability and productivity targets.
• Lead senior branch leadership and management teams, build a leadership pipeline and succession plans, and foster ethical leadership.
• Hold overall accountability for branch risk, conduct and regulatory compliance, manage audits, governance forums and material risk events, and ensure strong controls and TCF adherence.
• Engage key clients, community structures and external partners, and act as a brand ambassador for the bank.
• Deliver an exceptional in-branch customer experience, promote efficient service and alternative banking channels, and uphold Absa's service standards in a safe, professional environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in Banking.
• Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in Business Administration.
• Experience in a fast-paced, regulated financial services environment.
