Board Shop Controller (Cut & Edge)

About the role

The Board Shop Controller will oversee the Cut & Edge board shop for a reputable retailer in Cape Town. You will lead a team, operate specialised woodworking machinery, and ensure high‑quality output that meets delivery standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a team to maintain efficiency and product quality.
• Operate Cut & Edge machinery, including Wall Saws and Edgebanders, when required.
• Maintain and update machinery maintenance records to achieve 100% compliance.
• Perform regular machine upkeep such as greasing and general maintenance.
• Keep the board shop clean, organised, and safe.
• Provide excellent customer service and support sales activities.
• Prepare and submit operational and sales reports.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in Cut & Edge operations or similar woodworking machinery.
• Strong organisational and supervisory abilities.
• Excellent administrative skills.
• Customer‑focused mindset with high attention to detail.
• Willingness to work retail hours.

Required skills

• Operation of Wall Saws.
• Operation of Edgebanders.
• General woodworking machine handling.
• Machine maintenance procedures (greasing, upkeep).
