Billings Manager

About the role

Ethekwini Hospital and Heart Centre is looking for a Billings Manager to lead the revenue cycle management of the hospital. The incumbent ensures accurate and timely billing of all patient accounts and manages the Case Management, Bill Auditing and Confirmations teams, while also handling patient liaison and dispute resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Case Management, Bill Auditing and Confirmations teams
• Ensure daily, weekly and monthly tasks are completed according to the Billing Manager task document
• Maintain the DNYB and analyse billing errors with appropriate remedial action
• Manage the Fixed Fee Contract with appropriate reporting
• Monitor the accuracy of ICD10, CPT coding and level of care for clinical appropriateness
• Review and act on Medikredit reports and manage credit control queries as per the communication policy
• Stay up to date with funder rules and requirements and with changes in the medical environment

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
• Qualified registered nurse
• 3-5 years' experience in a management role
• Sound knowledge of private hospital business operations
• Sound knowledge of the case management and billing process, ICD 10 and CPT4 coding
