About the role

Our client, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking a Basic Ambulance Assistant (BAA/BLS) to support private emergency services across Bloemfontein, Bethlehem and Welkom in the Free State. The role involves responding to emergency calls, providing basic life support, and ensuring patient safety in line with the BAA/BLS scope of practice.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain operational readiness for emergency dispatches.
• Administer patient care according to Basic Life Support protocols.
• Complete accurate Patient Report Forms and adhere to HPCSA guidelines.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared objectives and uphold high ethical standards.
• Respond effectively under pressure and adapt to challenging situations.

Required profile

• Basic Life Support Practitioner qualification.
• Professional registration with the HPCSA as a BAA/BLS.
• Valid driver’s licence, including a Public Drivers Permit (PrDP).
• Minimum six months of BLS road experience.
• Knowledge of the EMS environment and HPCSA scope of practice.
