Automation Engineer – Test Automation

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Automation Tester to join our technology team in Sandton. The role focuses on designing, developing and implementing automated testing solutions that support high‑quality software delivery across the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust, scalable, reusable automated test frameworks using Java and C#.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using YAML, Azure DevOps or equivalent platforms.
• Implement and support Behaviour‑Driven Development (BDD) practices and tools.
• Create and execute automated tests for REST APIs, web GUIs and back‑end systems.
• Develop data‑driven test scenarios using SQL for data setup and validation.
• Apply object‑oriented programming principles in test solutions.
• Perform load and performance testing across the application stack.
• Collaborate with security teams to incorporate security testing where applicable.
• Coach development teams on test automation strategies and best practices.
• Manage source control using Git and enforce versioning discipline.

Required profile

• Skilled and detail‑oriented Automation Tester.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining automated test frameworks.
• Ability to work on‑site in Sandton with flexible working hours.
• Willingness to undergo required background checks (credit, criminal, ID, qualification verification).
