About the role
An established specialist automation company, with clients in South Africa and Europe, is seeking an Automation Engineer through Technical Placements. The role covers product and application development and support, with travel mostly to Europe for periods not exceeding 3 weeks.
Key responsibilities
- Product and application development and support
- Adapt existing software for new applications
- Manage and support customer applications remotely
- Supervise remote installations
- Travel to site to install equipment
- Travel abroad, mostly to Europe, for periods not exceeding 3 weeks
Required profile
- Electrical engineering qualification in electronics
- Some experience in embedded device programming
- Problem-solving ability
- Electronic circuit design experience is beneficial
Required skills
- Embedded device programming
- PIC microcontroller I/O card programming
- C programming language knowledge
- PLC programming is beneficial
Salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
