About the role
The municipality is seeking five qualified individuals to serve on its Audit Committee for a three‑year term. Members will act as an advisory body to the Accounting Officer, Municipal Council and political office bearers, ensuring compliance with the Municipal Finance Management Act.
Key responsibilities
- Provide advisory support to the Accounting Officer, Municipal Council and political office bearers on audit matters.
- Carry out duties stipulated in section 166 of the Municipal Finance Management Act, including oversight of internal audit, risk and performance management.
Required profile
- Relevant degree in Auditing or Accounting; CIA or CA qualification is an advantage.
- Law or Public Administration degree is desirable.
- Experience in internal audit, risk management, performance management and information technology.
