Assistant Professional Officer - Environmental Management

About the role

A client based in Cape Town is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Professional Officer to join its team on projects focused on rehabilitation and restoration initiatives within its department. The role supports both the design and implementation phases of project delivery, and also covers spatial planning, design review, stakeholder engagement, SAP-related processes and project reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Project coordination and implementation support
• Design and technical documentation support
• Procurement and contract administration
• Financial monitoring and SAP administration
• Project reporting and compliance management
• Stakeholder and project communication
• Support for Carbon Smart and Biodiversity branch initiatives
• Asset, information and document management

Required profile

• A relevant 3-year tertiary qualification or B-degree (Design, Architecture, Project Management)
• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in project coordination, project administration, infrastructure projects or environmental projects

Required skills

• Strong computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and MS Office
• SAP knowledge, including procurement processes, budget monitoring, invoice processing and financial administration
