Asset Manager (Renewables)

About the role

The Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of renewable energy assets, from financial close through the PPA tenure. This role ensures technical, financial and regulatory compliance while driving performance and value creation for the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Assume ultimate responsibility for SPV asset management, defining and optimizing the asset operations strategy.
• Monitor and drive financial and operational performance, ensuring projects deliver forecasted returns.
• Manage stakeholder relations with regulators, lenders, off‑takers, and internal divisions.
• Administer contracts, permits, licences and ensure compliance with HSE, ESG and regulatory standards.
• Develop and maintain operational financial models, monitor P&L, cash flows and budget deviations.
• Lead the asset management team, implement risk management frameworks and oversee insurance and warranty activities.

Required profile

• Engineering or Finance degree with advanced project finance knowledge.
• 5‑10 years of commercial experience in South African IPP asset management.
• Minimum three years in a similar managerial role within the same employer.
• Proven track record of leading high‑performance, diverse teams and managing senior stakeholder relationships.
• Strong understanding of wind, PV and BESS operations and related commercial drivers.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel modelling.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
