Asset Manager – Cape Town

About the role

We are looking for an Asset Manager to lead the management of TotalEnergies’ renewable energy assets in Cape Town. The role is responsible for maximising stakeholder value from both technical and financial perspectives throughout the project lifecycle, from financial close to the end of the power purchase agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility for SPV asset management, overseeing activities from financial close through the PPA tenure.
• Define and optimise the asset operations strategy and ensure risks are managed at each stage‑gate.
• Monitor financial and operational performance, ensuring projects deliver forecasted returns.
• Identify and drive optimisation initiatives such as refinancing, plant performance improvements and other commercial actions.
• Coordinate with delivery partners to protect value, manage risks and fulfil contractual obligations.
• Act as primary liaison with key stakeholders including the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy, Eskom, NERSA, off‑takers, lenders, shareholders and local authorities.
• Prepare and compile stakeholder reports and support other teams across project phases.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing renewable energy assets or similar large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of financial close processes, power purchase agreements and asset optimisation.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience dealing with regulators, utilities and financial institutions.
• Ability to analyse operational performance, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement improvement actions.
