Artisan HVAC (Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration)

About the role

Bidvest Facilities Management is hiring a qualified, highly skilled Artisan HVAC for its BFM Operations 1 team in Centurion, Gauteng. This is a permanent, mid-senior technical role covering air-conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation and water reticulation systems. The post is based in Centurion and involves travelling to client facilities and sub-sites.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, fault diagnostics, emergency repairs and installations on air-conditioning units, refrigeration plants, ventilation infrastructure and water reticulation systems, in line with equipment specs, client SLAs and legislation.
• Inspect facilities and HVAC equipment, report risks, defects and energy inefficiencies, and troubleshoot digital control systems and automated climate units.
• Install, configure, test and commission new air-conditioning units, refrigeration components and pipework, and complete field service requests and maintenance job plans accurately and on time.
• Ensure compliance with the OHS Act, environmental regulations and company safety protocols, and give technical updates to the Technical Supervisor, Helpdesk and clients.
• Maintain job cards, material usage logs and equipment servicing histories.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
• N3 to N6 National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
• Recognised HVAC trade test certificate (Red Seal).
• Valid South African driver's licence (essential).
• At least 5 years' post-trade experience as an HVAC artisan.
• Hands-on experience servicing, repairing and troubleshooting air-conditioning, commercial refrigeration, ventilation, water reticulation and digital control systems.
• Knowledge of the OHS Act and intermediate computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
