Air Conditioning Technician

About the role

A city hotel in Cape Town is looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Technician to join its Maintenance Department. The technician installs, maintains and repairs air conditioning systems for the hotel and the commercial properties in the hotel building, with a focus on energy efficiency, lower operating costs and reliable systems for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Install new air conditioning systems according to specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
• Perform routine maintenance to keep systems running optimally.
• Diagnose and repair faults and malfunctions in air conditioning systems.
• Provide good customer service and communicate clearly with clients about their air conditioning needs.
• Keep accurate records of work done, including parts used and time spent.
• Follow all safety regulations and guidelines.
• Carry out oral and written instructions from the Maintenance Managers and perform other duties as assigned.
• Train and share knowledge with other staff.
• Work shifts covering weekend requirements.

Required profile

• N2 certificate with air conditioning and refrigeration trade theory.
• Completion of the trade test.
• Completed safe handling of refrigeration certificate.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot and work under pressure, with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
