AI Assurance Consultant – Deloitte Africa Talent

About the role

Deloitte Africa Talent is seeking an AI Assurance Consultant to help clients build trustworthy AI systems. You will work remotely from Africa, collaborating with teams across South Africa and Europe, and contribute to high‑impact projects that embed auditability into AI design.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct formal assurance engagements against AI standards and regulations, applying ISAE 3000 principles.
• Lead audit‑readiness assessments for AI implementations, identifying control gaps and compliance risks.
• Advise clients on designing AI governance frameworks that are auditable and well‑documented.
• Work with client teams on large‑scale AI projects to ensure “auditable by design” principles from inception.
• Develop AI‑related disclosures for sustainability reports in line with emerging standards.
• Translate complex regulatory concepts into actionable insights for technical teams and C‑suite executives.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of AI governance, risk management, and relevant regulations.
• Experience conducting assurance or audit engagements, preferably with technology systems.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISAE 3000 assurance standards.
• Familiarity with AI standards, regulations, and governance frameworks.
• Ability to assess and document control environments for AI systems.
