Afrikaans Teacher (Grades 8-12)

About the role

Inspired Education is a group of premium private schools, and Reddford House Northcliff is one of its schools, set in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg. It is looking for an Afrikaans teacher for Grades 8-12. The teacher takes a holistic view of the students in their care, promotes their progress and well-being, and creates a positive, motivating learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Afrikaans lessons
• Create a nurturing, engaged learning environment
• Behave professionally regarding punctuality, behaviour, work standards and homework
• Evaluate, reflect on and refine teaching practice, and take part in personal and school-wide professional development
• Teach extra lessons on two afternoons per week when required
• Produce high-quality resources for students
• Reply to parent e-mails and calls within 24 hours
• Show loyalty to the school and attend special occasions at the discretion of the Head
• Set and mark exams and other student evaluations, and write report comments
• Carry out other reasonable tasks assigned by the School Head or line manager
