Advanced Nurse Practitioner – Anchor Unit

About the role

The Anchor Unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is seeking a qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join a permanent, full‑time team. The role focuses on delivering specialist care to patients receiving systemic anti‑cancer therapy (SACT) and radiotherapy, supporting both outpatient pre‑assessment clinics and the Cancer Treatment Helpline.

Key responsibilities

• Provide assessment, treatment and ongoing clinical care for oncology patients in outpatient settings.
• Staff the Cancer Treatment Helpline (0800‑1900, Monday‑Friday) and respond to patient queries.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe delivery of SACT and radiotherapy.
• Maintain and develop core competencies required for advanced practice.
• Participate in training and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) in Advanced Clinical Practice or an equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in an advanced nursing practice role.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and high‑quality patient care.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Systemic Anti‑Cancer Therapy (SACT).
• Experience with radiotherapy patient pathways.
• Advanced clinical practice competencies.
