Actuarial Analyst

About the role

The Actuarial Analyst will join Network Finance’s management analytics team in Johannesburg North, supporting the business with high‑quality data analysis, statistical modelling and reporting. The role focuses on healthcare data, hospital pricing, tariff structures and Alternative Reimbursement Methods (ARM) to drive profitable and risk‑aware decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse the impact of hospital pricing and tariff structures to develop and refine ARM models.
• Produce regular reports monitoring the effectiveness of ARM and related profitability.
• Identify and assess key risks linked to hospital event costs and establish reporting mechanisms.
• Conduct profitability analysis for each medical scheme and ARM contract type.

Required profile

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 ASSA exams completed.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

• Competence in statistical analysis tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a structured, logical approach.
