Acting Education Specialist – English, Life Skills & Computer Literacy

About the role

The Acting Education Specialist will deliver English, Life Skills and Computer Literacy programmes to TVET College students from Level 2 to Level 4. The role involves curriculum delivery, assessment, student support and departmental administration on an ongoing basis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present lessons in line with the College Teaching and Learning Plan and timetable.
• Assess students, capture marks, analyse results and implement remedial actions while maintaining ICASS and ISAT records.
• Facilitate recruitment, registration, induction and career development of students.
• Manage attendance, distribute textbooks and student packs, and oversee work‑based experience and workplace‑integrated learning.
• Prepare departmental POA’s and POE’s, submit regular reports to the Head of Department and ensure smooth departmental operations.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or NCV Level 4.
• Recognised 3‑year Degree/Diploma in English, Life Skills & Computer Literacy with a teaching qualification.
• Minimum 3 years lecturing experience, preferably in a TVET College, and trained assessor/moderator.
• SACE registration and a valid driver’s licence.
• Strong knowledge of DHET policies, academic assessment and moderation procedures.
