Accountant – Midrand (Full‑time)

About the role

The company, a property development firm, is looking for a qualified Accountant to join its finance team in Randburg. The role requires fluency in English and Afrikaans and involves preparing management accounts and supporting financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end accounting processes, including journal entries and accruals.
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance‑sheet items, debtor and creditor accounts.
• Prepare VAT calculations and statutory submissions.
• Assist with annual audits and provide audit support documentation.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies and South African legislation.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial controls and processes.
• Provide financial support and guidance to internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting degree with SAIPA articles completed.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
• Fluency in English and Afrikaans.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Pastel Partner/Evolution.
• CaseWare.
• Journal processing, bank and creditor reconciliations.
• Supplier invoice capture and asset register management.
• Strong knowledge of South African accounting standards, tax and VAT legislation.
