Accountant – Capital Markets

About the role

The Apex Group is seeking an Accountant for its Capital Markets division. Reporting to a Manager, the role focuses on delivering accurate portfolio valuations and comprehensive accounting services for a range of client portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day capital markets accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
• Plan, coordinate and complete Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations in collaboration with managers and the wider team.
• Prepare management and statutory reports for corporate entities, adhering to IFRS, GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and develop trainee accountants and interns within the team.
• Liaise with portfolio managers, brokers and custodians to resolve issues promptly.
• Support external auditors during audit engagements.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in capital markets accounting and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with IFRS and GAAP standards.
• Ability to manage multiple client responsibilities and meet regulatory deadlines.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with internal teams and external stakeholders.
