Account Manager – SEO Agency (Remote, South Africa)

About the role

As an Account Manager you will be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of SEO clients, ensuring they feel informed, confident and supported. You will act as the bridge between the delivery team and the client, translating performance data into clear, actionable insights while driving growth and retention.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly catch‑up calls, present progress, results and next steps.
• Manage client queries, gather approvals, assets and feedback to keep projects on track.
• Prepare and deliver client‑friendly monthly reports, translating SEO metrics into plain language.
• Monitor performance across key SEO indicators, analyse trends and recommend strategic adjustments.
• Identify upsell and expansion opportunities and flag them to senior leadership.
• Brief the delivery team on client priorities and resolve cross‑team dependencies promptly.

Required profile

• 3+ years in account management or a client‑facing role, preferably within a digital marketing or SEO agency.
• Working knowledge of SEO concepts and the ability to discuss them confidently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organised with the capacity to juggle multiple clients and deadlines.
• Proactive ownership mindset – you take initiative without waiting for direction.
