About the role

Two Oceans Graduate Institute (TOGI) is a registered private higher‑education institution in South Africa that specialises in Initial Teacher Education and is expanding into postgraduate programmes. The Institute is looking for a dynamic, visionary Academic Dean to join the senior leadership team, report directly to the CEO, and steer the academic direction of the university.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all academic affairs, ensuring alignment with the institution’s strategy, vision and objectives.
• Provide strategic leadership for undergraduate and postgraduate offerings within the School of Education, including curriculum development, staff recruitment and student engagement.
• Drive the expansion of postgraduate teacher‑education programmes to support institutional growth and academic excellence.
• Ensure compliance with higher‑education regulatory frameworks, quality‑assurance, accreditation and programme review processes.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance TOGI’s academic reputation.
• Oversee academic division functions such as research, compliance, accreditation and people‑and‑culture initiatives.
• Guide quality‑assurance processes for programme design, teaching and learning, online and distance pedagogies, and academic governance.

Required profile

• A relevant doctoral degree in Education or an equivalent qualification.
• Extensive experience in higher education, particularly in teacher education and academic leadership.
• Proven track record managing both undergraduate and postgraduate teacher‑education programmes.
