Technical Services Manager

About the role

The Technical Services Manager will lead the management of risks related to the hospital’s technical infrastructure and assets, ensuring safe and efficient operation of all plants and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Busamed Engineering policy standards, relevant legislation, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Oversee effective facilities and quality systems management.
• Monitor maintenance execution to agreed standards and timelines.
• Identify and engage appropriate service providers in collaboration with Group Procurement.
• Drive conformance to service level agreements, address gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain productive relationships with internal customers through regular meetings and communication.
• Participate in budgeting, monitor performance against budget and approve financial expenditures.
• Conduct regular customer satisfaction surveys and manage complaints.
• Ensure external stakeholders meet quality and health & safety standards and prepare for audits.
• Manage the asset management system according to hospital engineering protocols and be available for standby duties and call‑outs.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.
• Mechanical Artisan Trade Qualification (preferable) in plant & machinery.
• Experience in private healthcare facilities, planned maintenance, budgeting and financial control.
• Previous management experience is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in building maintenance, plumbing, carpentry and basic electrical fault finding.
