Short-Term Insurance Advisor – Peninsula

About the role

A prominent financial services provider is seeking an experienced Short-Term Insurance Advisor to join its dynamic team in Somerset West. This permanent position offers a lucrative commission structure and focuses on growing the short‑term insurance portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities and manage existing client relationships across the short‑term insurance spectrum.
• Source qualified, sustainable new business and onboard clients through compliant processes.
• Identify and grow market share by cross‑selling and conducting detailed needs analyses for existing clientele.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards.

Required profile

• Minimum matric qualification; tertiary qualification advantageous.
• At least 5 years of experience in the short‑term insurance industry, with 3 years in advisory and sales of both short‑term and commercial lines.
• Hold NQF Level 5 qualification together with RE5 and/or RE1 certification.
• Fit and Proper status as prescribed by the FSCA and in‑depth knowledge of short‑term insurance products.
• Proven entrepreneurial track record in business development within the Western Cape, supported by a strong network and client referral base.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and bilingual communication skills (English and Afrikaans), strong target‑driven mindset, valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
