Sales Assistant – Delivery & Cash Collection

About the role

Assist the Salesman driver in delivering Premier FMCG products, handling cash and tray collection, and ensuring vehicle safety and hygiene. The role operates in a pressurised environment with a six‑day work week, including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, and may involve rotating 12‑hour shifts, including nights.

Key responsibilities

• Check company products against the loading sheet, verify quantities, and sign off the documentation.
• Adhere to standard departure times to ensure timely deliveries.
• Maintain vehicle safety and hygiene, performing regular checks and cleaning.
• Collect cash from customers, issue receipts, and reconcile daily cash totals.
• Offload products at customer sites efficiently and verify receipt.
• Report any accidents immediately to the transport department and Service Manager, providing detailed information.

Required profile

• 1–2 years experience in the FMCG sector, preferably in delivery or sales support.
• Valid driver’s licence (code 10/CI) with PD, allowing operation of company vehicles.
• Matric / Grade 12 qualification as minimum educational requirement.
• Willingness to work a six‑day schedule, including weekends and public holidays, as per shift roster.
• Ability to work rotating 12‑hour shifts, including night shifts, and adapt to changing schedules.
