Procurement Category Manager

About the role

Altron Digital Business is seeking a strategic Procurement Category Manager to lead and evolve its indirect IT sourcing strategy. You will work closely with IT, Finance and Legal teams to drive value, optimise spend and ensure compliance across hardware, software, cloud and network services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies that maximise value and efficiency.
• Lead supplier negotiations and manage complex IT contracts, service level agreements and licensing agreements.
• Analyse spend data to identify cost‑saving opportunities and improvements.
• Partner with internal stakeholders as a trusted procurement advisor.
• Monitor supplier performance and enforce contract compliance.
• Drive Preferential Procurement (BBBEE) strategy across indirect categories.
• Stay ahead of market trends, including AI, cloud and cybersecurity.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Category Sourcing role (not general procurement).
• Proven track record in supplier negotiations, commercial constructs and benefits realisation.
• Deep understanding of IT procurement: hardware, software, cloud and network infrastructure.
• Strong analytical ability to assess total cost of ownership and identify savings.
• Relevant tertiary qualification such as BCom, Supply Chain or Finance.
