Process Engineer – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

The Process Engineer will optimise process parameters and drive efficiency improvements in production. You will design, build and commission projects while ensuring operating procedures are documented and implemented. All activities align with Omnia's world‑class manufacturing philosophy.

Key responsibilities

• Implement safe design principles, conduct risk assessments and facilitate HAZOP studies to prevent occupational and process safety incidents.
• Develop and optimise process designs, perform mass and energy balances, and create process flowsheets, schematics and P&ID diagrams.
• Lead equipment sizing, procurement, installation and commissioning, including testing of control loops and hot commissioning.
• Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure projects are delivered within cost and schedule targets.
• Provide technical support to the production facility, troubleshoot performance deviations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with production and cross‑functional teams, manage resources and maintain project documentation.

Required profile

• Matric (Maths and Science) and a BSc in Chemical Engineering.
• 3–8 years of industrial experience in process engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on safety and quality.
