Process Engineer

About the role

National Brands Limited is seeking a Process Engineer to join its Rosslyn Snacks factory in Pretoria. You will work in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment, supporting both operational and improvement projects that keep South Africa’s favourite snack brands on the market.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and validation of analytical and operating procedures.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Commission equipment and compile technical handover dossiers.
• Produce master process instructions, including parameters and centre‑lining.
• Prepare mass and energy balances and detailed process specification sheets.
• Review raw material, process and product specifications.
• Assist manufacturing in troubleshooting and participate in quality and engineering root‑cause analyses.
• Participate in validation and verification of processes and operating procedures.
• Apply problem‑solving techniques and drive process improvements.
• Contribute to Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) initiatives.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry.
• Hands‑on experience with continuous frying, extrusion, convective drying, tortilla processing or related technologies is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a team‑oriented, results‑driven environment.
