Shift Technician – Brewing Operations

About the role

The Shift Technician is the first responder to any reliability issues on shift at Sedibeng Brewery, reporting to the Brewing Team Leader. The role focuses on continuous improvement through problem solving, implementation of World Class Manufacturing systems, and coaching operators to achieve autonomous maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all reliability activities for the Brewing department during assigned shifts, including first‑line response to breakdowns.
• Own and complete problem‑solving initiatives to deliver sustainable solutions and manage scheduled maintenance actions.
• Act as the subject‑matter expert on shift, researching, implementing and maintaining best practices.
• Train the operational team on autonomous maintenance requirements.
• Drive process improvement by applying World Class Manufacturing knowledge.
• Proactively manage cost drivers to ensure product is delivered on time, in full, with optimal quality and efficiency.
• Maintain information flow between shift teams, plant maintenance, and management.

Required profile

• Completed Trade Test.
• 3‑5 years of maintenance experience in an FMCG environment.
• Proven practical problem‑solving skills with ownership of solution implementation.
• Experience driving World Class Manufacturing initiatives (advantageous).
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and foster ownership.
