Personal Lines Claims Consultant – Centurion

About the role

The Claims Department is seeking a Personal Lines Claims Consultant to serve as the primary point of contact for clients and brokers in Centurion. You will ensure efficient, accurate handling of new and existing claims while delivering exceptional service that exceeds expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and register all new personal lines claims, including those from insurers.
• Provide first‑call resolution and maintain proactive communication with clients and brokers.
• Validate FNOL data within one working hour and ensure accurate documentation throughout the claims lifecycle.
• Interpret policy wordings, assess coverage, and advise stakeholders on claim validity.
• Identify potential fraud, non‑disclosure, or misrepresentation and follow insurer procedures.
• Escalate complex or high‑value claims to specialists or management as required.
• Negotiate settlements within authorized limits and coordinate with external experts and legal teams.
• Utilise preferred service suppliers to minimise cash settlements and meet BBEEE targets.
• Maintain diaries, messages, and deadlines to ensure timely claim resolution.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of personal lines insurance policies and claims processes.
• Ability to work under strict SLAs and turnaround times.
• Excellent analytical skills to assess coverage and detect red flags.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills with internal and external parties.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accurate data capture.
