Painter – Hotel & Conference Center

About the role

Our client, an upmarket hotel and conference centre, is seeking a skilled Painter to maintain and enhance the visual appearance of the property’s interiors and exteriors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces, mix paints and apply primers, undercoats and finish coats to achieve high‑quality finishes.
• Conduct regular inspections and carry out preventative touch‑ups and repairs on walls, ceilings, doors and trims.
• Maintain and organise painting tools, equipment and consumables, ensuring safe storage and proper labeling.
• Observe occupational health and safety standards, using PPE and following ventilation and waste‑disposal procedures.
• Collaborate with the Facilities Manager and other trades on refurbishment projects and provide input on colour schemes and materials.
• Record daily work, material usage and generate reports on completed projects and surface conditions.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent; trade certificate in painting preferred.
• 3–5 years of professional painting experience, preferably in a hotel or high‑end property.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
• Physically fit, able to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays as required.

Required skills

• Surface preparation (cleaning, sanding, filling).
• Paint mixing and colour matching.
• Operation of hand tools, brushes, rollers and spray guns.
• Basic plastering, crack filling and wallpaper application.
