Mid-level Frontend Web Developer (Remote, South Africa)

About the role

TransUnion is looking for a mid‑level Frontend Web Developer to join its Global Capability Centre Africa (GCCA). The role is fully remote within South Africa and focuses on building high‑performance, production‑ready web applications.

Key responsibilities

• Own feature development from scoping and requirement gathering through launch and maintenance.
• Monitor and improve web application performance, page load speed, and SEO.
• Participate in peer code reviews to ensure security, quality, and architectural consistency.
• Communicate technical trade‑offs clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Research and adopt new tools or industry trends to keep the tech stack modern.

Required profile

• 5+ years of advanced JavaScript/TypeScript experience with ES6+ and asynchronous programming.
• Proven experience building production‑ready applications with Next.js or Nuxt.js, including static site generation.
• Strong proficiency in modern CSS, utility‑first frameworks (e.g., Tailwind CSS) or CSS‑in‑JS, and translating designs from Figma into pixel‑perfect interfaces.
• Experience managing complex state using Pinia or Vuex.
• Solid background integrating RESTful APIs using Axios or Fetch and writing unit/integration tests.
