Junior Preparatory Grade 1 Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Junior Preparatory Grade 1 Teacher to join Reddford House Blue Hills, a premium private school in Midrand. You will nurture young learners, create engaging lessons, and support their holistic development within our IEB curriculum framework.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver exciting, age‑appropriate lessons for Grade 1.
• Apply Reggio‑inspired teaching methods to foster curiosity and creativity.
• Maintain a nurturing classroom environment that promotes active learning.
• Assess, mark and provide constructive feedback on student work.
• Teach extra‑curricular lessons or sports on two afternoons per week.
• Produce high‑quality teaching resources.
• Respond to parent communications within 24 hours.
• Participate in school events and special occasions as required.
• Undertake any reasonable tasks assigned by the Head of School.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience, preferably in a high‑performing international school.
• Familiarity with the CAPS curriculum and IEB standards.
• Confidence using ICT tools to enhance instruction.
• Professional punctuality, conduct and commitment to student wellbeing.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ICT for classroom teaching.
