About the role
The HR Officer will provide comprehensive on‑site Human Resources support to the BIL divisions, covering administration, recruitment, training, performance management, talent management and employee relations, including CCMA representation.
Key responsibilities
- Recruitment & Selection – manage end‑to‑end recruitment, advertising, screening, interviewing, onboarding, conduct credit/criminal checks and prepare contracts and starter packs.
- Payroll Administration – maintain employee records in SAGE 300 People, capture new hires, updates and ensure accurate payroll data.
- HR Administration – prepare contracts, promotion letters, manage employee files, equity reporting and support HR committees.
- Retirement Fund Management – process terminations, withdrawals and UI‑19 forms for the Bidcorp Fund.
- Medical Aid Administration – register employees, manage documentation and coordinate changes with payroll.
- Industrial Relations – advise staff and management, support disciplinary hearings, appeals and grievances, ensure compliance with IR legislation.
- General HR Support – communicate HR policies, draft procedures and contribute to HR publications.
Required profile
- At least 5 years of full‑cycle HR generalist experience, including industrial relations and CCMA representation.
- Matric (Grade 12) and a B Degree or N Diploma in Human Resources.
- Strong interview and administrative skills with the ability to partner with internal clients.
Required skills
- Intermediate‑advanced proficiency in MS Office.
- Hands‑on experience with SAGE 300 People (Employee Management, Job Profile Management, Personnel Management, report writing).
- Familiarity with online recruitment platforms such as P‑Net and LinkedIn.
- Experience using background‑check systems like MIE and Lexis Nexis.
