HR Manager

About the role

The Sandton Hotel is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead its people function on‑site in Johannesburg. This full‑time position will support a diverse hospitality team, ensuring smooth recruitment, employee relations and compliance with South African labour legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end recruitment, onboarding and talent acquisition for all hotel departments.
• Manage employee relations, resolve conflicts and ensure compliance with local labour laws.
• Lead performance management cycles, design training programmes and drive employee development.
• Administer payroll, benefits and HR information systems accurately and on schedule.
• Coordinate employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven experience in HR management, preferably within the hospitality sector.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, organisational and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR information systems (HRIS).
• Experience in payroll management software.
