Human Resources Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the HR and Industrial Relations function for a mining operation in Roodeport, South Africa. The role involves overseeing employees, contractors and service providers while ensuring full compliance with labour legislation and mining regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the complete HR function across the mining site.
• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with operational goals.
• Ensure compliance with South African labour law, mining‑related employment requirements and company policies.
• Handle all Industrial Relations matters, including disciplinary processes, grievances, dispute resolution and CCMA representation.
• Manage union relationships, negotiations and provide strategic IR guidance to line management.
• Oversee contractor compliance, conduct audits and control headcount.
• Drive Employment Equity compliance, prepare statutory reports and support transformation initiatives.
• Prepare regular HR and IR reports for senior management and the board, manage HR budgets and maintain data integrity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Labour Law or a related field.
• 5–10 years of HR management experience within a mining or heavy‑industrial environment.
• Strong background in Industrial Relations and contractor management.
• Proven ability to produce senior‑level reports and manage budgets.
