HR Manager – Corporate Services

About the role

The Amahlathi Local Municipality seeks a senior Human Resources professional to lead the HR function within its Corporate Services Department. The role involves strategic oversight of recruitment, employee relations, training, and compliance with municipal policies and legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the HR and administration team to deliver comprehensive HR services.
• Measure employee satisfaction, identify improvement areas, and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee recruitment, selection, benefits administration, and termination processes.
• Develop and monitor training and development programmes in collaboration with HR staff.
• Ensure municipal policies and procedures are current and aligned with relevant legislation.
• Provide advice to the Director and senior management on HR matters and contribute to service delivery and budget planning.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 qualification.
• At least 5 years of HR experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role, preferably in local government.
• Certificate in Municipal Finance Management Programme (MFMP) is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all organisational levels.
• Valid Code EB driver’s licence.
