Financial Manager – Agriculture Sector (Brits, South Africa)

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Manager to lead the finance function for our client in the agricultural sector, based in Brits, South Africa. The role will oversee cost accounting, operational finance and ensure compliance with statutory and tax requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage cost accounting and operational finance activities, including activity‑based and standard costing.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling to support business decisions.
• Lead internal and external audits and ensure statutory compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
• Handle tax compliance, including VAT, PAYE and SARS submissions.
• Maintain and optimise ERP/accounting systems such as Sage or Pastel.
• Support export operations and manage foreign currency exposure.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA) or CIMA is advantageous.
• 5–8 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably within agriculture, fresh produce, packhouse or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
• Valid driver’s licence with reliable transport and a stable employment track record.
