About the role
The Finance Assistant will support the finance function of a boutique hotel, handling daily accounting tasks, reconciliations and reporting. You will ensure that all financial operations comply with internal policies and hospitality industry standards.
Key responsibilities
- Record and reconcile daily revenue from hotel departments such as Front Office and Events.
- Compile the Daily Revenue Report Pack for finance management.
- Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Maintain accurate petty‑cash and float records for various departments.
- Prepare month‑end financial reports and departmental cost summaries.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit‑card transactions and POS systems.
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve billing queries.
- Assist in audit preparations and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
- Monitor outstanding payments and customer accounts.
- File and back up financial data for easy accessibility.
Required profile
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or Hospitality Management with finance modules.
- Minimum 1 year of finance or accounts experience in the hospitality sector.
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual and proactive with a willingness to learn.
Required skills
- Microsoft Excel – formulas, pivot tables and reporting templates.
- Hotel PMS systems (e.g., Ezee, Hoteliga, Nightsbridge).
- Accounting software such as Sage or Xero.
