About the role
The Internal Auditor will provide independent, objective assessments of the Group’s financial and operational activities across multiple sites, including stores in the Western and Eastern Cape and the DC warehouse. This role requires extensive travel, stakeholder engagement and a strong eye for detail.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement audit programmes aligned with departmental SOPs.
- Plan and execute audits across finance, operations and retail locations.
- Update the internal audit plan to maintain robust financial and operational controls.
- Perform testing, identify vulnerabilities and report findings with actionable recommendations.
- Monitor Group‑wide compliance with local and national regulations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define audit scope and ensure policy adherence.
- Manage stakeholder communications with heads of departments and executive management.
Required profile
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in internal auditing, accounting or finance.
- 3‑5 years of experience as an internal auditor, preferably in retail or QSR environments.
- Valid driver’s licence, own vehicle and willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays.
- Strong analytical abilities and a keen eye for discrepancies.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with internal audit software and AI applications.
- Knowledge of point‑of‑sale (POS) systems such as GAAP, Micros.
