Experienced Histology Medical Technician – Claremont, Cape Town

About the role

An opportunity exists for an experienced Medical Technician/Technologist/Laboratory Scientist to join the Histology department at PathCare House Claremont branch in Cape Town. The role requires a proven track record in histology, high ethical standards and alignment with PathCare values.

Required profile

• 3‑year Biomedical Technology diploma, 4‑year Medical Laboratory Scientist degree or Medical Technician Certificate in Histology
• Current HPCSA registration in Histology
• 3‑5 years histology experience after HPCSA registration
• Extended specimen grossing experience (advantageous)
• Experience developing and implementing technical procedures
• Experience maintaining QA systems
• Client‑focused with strong interpersonal relations
• Fluent English and understanding of Afrikaans

Required skills

• Proficiency with Meditech laboratory information system
• Knowledge of Material Management systems
• Specimen grossing expertise
• Technical procedure development and implementation
• Quality Assurance (QA) system maintenance
