About the role
The Diesel Mechanic ensures efficient maintenance of plant and equipment, adhering to safety standards and company procedures. This role involves both planned and unplanned maintenance to keep assets operating at design capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Observe and follow all company policies, employment legislation, and SHEQ‑C Code of Conduct.
- Attend safety, pre‑shift meetings and required training sessions.
- Perform inspections, complete reports, and assist in writing repair specifications.
- Report faults, accidents, incidents and safety deviations to the Foreman.
- Ensure electrical, kinetic and potential energy are neutralised before work begins.
- Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance on diesel‑powered plant and equipment.
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition and practice good housekeeping.
- Document all maintenance activities and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
