Credit Controller

About the role

We are looking for a Credit Controller to join our Longmeadow site in Gauteng, South Africa. The role involves managing the company’s outstanding debt, ensuring timely payments and supporting the finance team in maintaining healthy cash flow.

Key responsibilities

• Verify validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions and customers.
• Resolve authorised deductions and enter corrections to customer accounts.
• Ensure timely payments of debts and respond to customer queries.
• Handle internal queries about payments, ensuring customers pay on time.
• Meet cash and debtor days targets set by the company.
• Ensure all transactions comply with company policies.
• Provide ad‑hoc reporting to management as required.
• Undertake account reconciliations and send customer statements promptly.
• Meet monthly processing deadlines, including overtime when necessary.
• Release orders timely to prevent delivery delays and support the General Manager on after‑hours orders.
• Maintain the branch Debtors Book and perform other duties delegated by the National Credit Manager.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12); Business Administration, Finance or similar qualifications advantageous.
• Minimum of five (5) years experience as a Credit Controller in the FMCG industry.
• English is required; bilingual ability preferred.
