Control Room Officer – Logistics & Customer Support

About the role

The Control Room Officer ensures smooth coordination between logistics teams, customers and internal stakeholders. Working from the control centre, you will monitor arrivals, departures and route compliance while maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships.
• Inform customers of team arrivals via telephone or email and advise on delivery/collection ETA.
• Communicate relevant information to the Team Controller: Logistics following SOPs and radio procedures.
• Verify that all control‑room equipment and programs are operational; report faults promptly.
• Record client calls in a call‑log register and assist with risk‑management documentation.
• Liaise with the Risk Department, report incidents, and adhere to Business Continuity and panic‑activation protocols.
• Monitor route execution versus planned routes, adjust geo‑fences, and ensure delivery targets are met.
• Identify process delays, provide recommendations, and support ISO 9001:2015 compliance and ESG reporting.
• Promote department values, lead change initiatives and facilitate workshops or presentations.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of control‑room experience.
• Call‑centre experience is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
